The researchers at the University of Toronto have recently completed a new study on the strawberries and its effect on cholesterol.
The study examined 28 men and women with high cholesterol that took a diet low in cholesterol and gave half of the group three cups of strawberries a day for 30 days and the other half more bread of oat bran.

“In the excess, LDL (bad) is detrimental to our arteries, but it is even more harmful if it is oxidized, therefore the antioxidants contained in the strawberries help reduce the free radicals that cause oxidation in the body.
This small study was supported by the California Strawberry Commission, although the study clearly contributes to the promotion of the sales of strawberries, but they help these new findings to demonstrate that the strawberries, as well as other antioxidants that are very rich in fruit and berries, represent an important part in a healthy diet and disease prevention.
