Diet for people who have gastritis

Are becoming more studies which extol the virtues of the Mediterranean diet. The conclusion of this study on the benefits of the Mediterranean diet in the prevention of gastric cancer is very important. The Journal of Clinical Nutrition has published the results of this study since its relevance. The food is vital for the health in general. That a particular diet is also beneficial effects on the prevention of diseases is a step beyond.

In this study of the Catalan Institute of Oncology Institute- Biomedical Bellvitge, collaborated 23 health centers in 10 European countries, nearly half a million people between 35-70 years during 9 years of follow-up. The novelty of the study is that so far had been identified beneficial effects of some foods such as are the vegetables, fruit, or vitamin C, but had not materialized the beneficial effect of the Mediterranean diet as a whole.

The Mediterranean diet prevents and reduces in a 33 percent chance of gastric tumors, which are some of the cancers with worse prognosis and treatment less effective. Are often diagnosing when they are in advanced stages so that the survival does not exceed 23 per cent of the cases.

The gastric tumors are the second cause of death from cancer in the world, with more than one million deaths a year. In Spain is the fifth most frequent cancer. This study opens a new way for cancer prevention and extols the benefits of our Mediterranean diet.
